What happens to a person's camp if another player launches a nuke at it? | Fandom (2024)

Oh cool, that means the nuke I launched at a guy's camp destroyed his whole camp. Um... It was over a workshop dispute.

I'll give Fo76 some credit where it's due, if players are dropping nukes on each other as a result of disputes over resources then it's doing something right.

Oh lol I remembered a time in 76 I was in a group one of them my freind and we were doing something I don’t exactly remember but we found a dude who would not stop attacking us so we got a nuke and destroyed his camp (we did get sweet loot)

I just build all my camps in the forest so they can’t be nuked

If you launch a nuke and it happens to hit and kill a player (intentional or not) does that activate the killing of pacifist player system? A target on your head and stuff I read about when the game first dropped

No, it doesn't give you a bounty or make you hostile. Also, there's plenty of warning that your camp is about to be nuked and you can always just leave the server. If it happens to you and your camp gets destroyed, you can just move your camp slightly and it'll rebuild everything fully repaired with no material cost.

For that last bit, I would only try if your CAMP has a single point of contact or you are confident in the design of your foundation to be placeable. I’ve yet to have layout which could be placed as a schematic, so you’re probably going to just be better off leaving the server.

Does leaving the server protect your camp? A nuke can’t destroy your camp when you are offline?

Nah, your CAMP only exists if you are actively in a server. It will not take damage if you are offline, and if you join a world where your spot is already taken, your CAMP remains safe, even if the spot it would normally deploy in is nuked.

Now, there might be a margin of error, if you tried logging out right as the bomb detonated. No idea how precisely the server will log when you leave if it’s a photo finish. But the nuke warning is a minute or two long, so you would normally have enough time to safely leave if you did not want to be bothered by it. And if let’s say, that server has all your friends there so you want to be in that server specifically, not just any ol server, you can rejoin after detonation. Your CAMP will not be destroyed if it spawns in an existing nuke zone. Again, there could be a margin of error if you spawn right as the detonation wraps up. I’ve never tested to see how forgiving it is if you spawn mid detonation.
